Free Sled Hill &  Ice Skating Rink at Rickel Park right in South Fork. The skate shack next to the rink offers complimentary hockey and figure skates (small donation suggested). The rink is usually open mid-December through mid-March, weather-permitting. Pick-up hockey games often organized by locals.

Wolf Creek Ski Area has group lesson options available for children ages five and older for both skiers and snowboarders. Little shredders can be any ability level! Classes and terrain management are based on skill set. Lessons include a full-day, all-mountain lift ticket. Have a child under 5 years old? Don’t worry; Private Lessons are available to all ages! Family Friendly cross country skiing.  A small club of independent, self-funded skiers dedicated to providing intensively groomed trails for Nordic skiers to ski and train on.  Their primary grooming focus is the South Fork Guard Station Trail (SW of South Fork) but they also groom Home Lake (East of Monte Vista); Beaver Reservoir Area (South of South Fork CO); and various other higher elevation sites based on snow availability and skier needs.
